The Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games were the world’s third-largest international multi-sport games. They were also the largest sporting event in Canadian History. JAIN was retained by the Client (Infrastructure Ontario) as key members of the Planning Design & Compliance Team. The main challenge of the project was developing venues that would fit the needs of the Games while not being over-designed for legacy use. This challenge was met via innovative architectural and MEP design strategies.

Hosting swimming, diving, fencing, modern pentathlon, sitting volleyball, and roller sports events, the $205-million venue is the largest single investment in Canadian amateur sport history. Its aquatic center is one of the first in the country to contain two 50m pools and a diving tank. The field house boasts a gymnasium large enough to accommodate four basketball courts or six volleyball courts; a fitness area, a running track; and a sports medicine clinic.
