JAIN’s roots date back to 1952 when the firm Flanagan & Black was started. This practice later became R.J. Black & Associates which is the firm Dinesh Jain joined in 1975 as a Junior Engineer. He rapidly advanced through various positions in the firm to become Chief Engineer in 1981, Partner in 1984 and President in 1989. In 1994, the firm took a different direction as JAIN, with expansion into India, Middle East and China. Since that time, JAIN has evolved into a multinational firm of engineering consultants based in Toronto with several offices worldwide.

Who we are
Persistence and diligence have solidified JAIN’s position in the field of engineering consultancy services at an international level. A Toronto based company with offices Located in Canada, UAE, Azerbaijan, India, Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago, JAIN boasts a high caliber staff providing a solid platform for superior project delivery.
For over 65 years, JAIN has been providing professional services to its clients in the public and private sector. JAIN’s experience includes a variety of project types including commercial, high-rise residential, hospitality, sports, education, health care, post-secondary, emergency, government, religious facilities and municipal infrastructure. JAIN firmly believes that an engineering firm must adapt to the project type and produce designs based on core principles that do not change with the type of project. It is accurate application of these principles that makes a firm dynamic and suitable for any project type.
JAIN takes pride in its experience and passion in sustainable design. The firm’s main principals are LEED ® Accredited Professionals and Certified Energy Managers. They are supported by several other Professional Engineers and LEED® Accredited Professionals that make sustainability the main motivation of all design decisions. JAIN has won many awards and international competitions for innovative design and is constantly looking for new ways to make their designs more sustainable while keeping them simple. Projects including on-site renewable energy and net zero classification are becoming more common in JAIN’s portfolio.
Constant professional development of their staff and investment in technology allow JAIN to remain at the leading edge of engineering practices. Dinesh Jain, President
Dinesh has over 35 years of experience in design of all types of buildings from small to very large developments.
Dinesh holds Master’s Degrees in Engineering and Business Administration. He is also a LEED® Accredited Professional and was amongst the first to be awarded the designation of Certified Energy Manager in Canada in 1981. He has won numerous awards and international competitions for his innovative designs.
Dinesh continues his endeavours in promoting environmentally conscious designs by the training of professionals and sponsoring international conferences aiming to increase public awareness in the matter. Dinesh still provides constant support and guidance to our offices around the world.
Anish Jain Executive Vice President
Anish joined JAIN in 2002 after completing a Bachelor’s in Engineering at Cornell University and Master’s in Management Science at Stanford University. Since then, he has focused on streamlining the firm’s project management processes, expanding the sustainable consulting division and strengthening the firm’s global presence.
Anish’s commitment to professional development is demonstrated through his designation as a LEED® Accredited Professional, Certified Energy Manager, Certified Measurement & Verification Professional and Lighting Certified Consultant.
Anish currently heads the Electrical Design, Contract Administration and Sustainable Design Divisions at JAIN. He is currently involved in the LEED® Certification Process for several projects in Canada and internationally. His expertise in codes, sustainable design and project management make him an asset to any project team.
Khalil Atieh , Vice President, Middle East & North Africa
With almost 15 years of experience in building services consultancy, Khalil has gained the necessary insight to manage and deliver projects in a manner that meets the client’s needs.
Having assumed the role of Vice President for the Middle East & Africa Region, Khalil has been the project leader for all of JAIN’s projects in the MENA region in recent years. He has experience working with a number of international clients, developing good relationships with them through communication and outstanding project delivery.
Khalil’s knowledge has allowed him to publish various HVAC-related articles in Energy Journals.
Dr. M. Nadeem, Director, India
Nadeem has been with JAIN’s Indian Office, Enersave Consultants, since it started in 1996. Nadeem holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and PhD in Energy Conservation. His 20 years of experience combined with his passion for his field have made him an authority in the subject of HVAC. Many of his articles have been published in ASHRAE, ISHRAE and other reputable journals and he is often invited to speak on key topics facing engineers today. He is an active member of the Indian Green Building Council and also the first in India to earn the title of Certified Green Globe Proficient Consultant. Nadeem leads a team of highly competent engineers and designers in our Indian Office, working on projects in South Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Latchman Bholasingh, Vice-President, Latin America
Mr. Latchman Bholasingh has worked extensively in the Construction Industry in Trinidad and within the Caribbean as an MEP Consultant and Project Manager over the past 37 years. Latchman was responsible for establishing JAIN’s presence in the Caribbean and has since expanded their footprint to South America as well. Major projects include outfitting of the Board of Inland Revenue Tower in Port of Spain, Brentwood Professional Centre Trinidad, Head Offices for The Guyana Bank of Trade and Industry in Georgetown The Caribbean Court of Justice, The Head Offices for the Chaguanas Borough Corporation Trinidad and numerous other Health, Sports & Commercial facilities.
